At 429 miles, the trip from East Lansing
to Iowa City, Iowa, is the longest drive
Spartan fans will have to make this season.
So why drive?
Thirty fans hopped on a Dean Trailways
coach on Friday for a trip to the land of corn.
For $350, Spartan fans got tickets, transportation,
breakfast and lunch both ways, two nights in an
Iowa hotel and a side trip to South Bend, Ind.'s
College Football Hall of Fame.
"They have an awful lot of fun and it's a safe way
to go," said Carolyn Chisnell, the Dean Trailways
sales rep who coordinates the trips.
"You don't have to drive, you can just watch a movie."
