TRENTON, MI - Dean Transportation raised $1,250 at its annual Bowl for Food event Friday night at the Belmar II Bowling Alley.
Director of Transportation Archie Denard said the donations will be given to the Trenton Food Pantry.
“We had a great turnout of bowlers,” said Denard. “All funds are going right back into the community to help residents in need.”
Denard said Dean Transportation’s mission is to be involved in the community and when he asked his employees what organization they could help, they immediately said the Trenton Food Pantry.
“The food pantry is a great organization, so we are happy that we can help,” he said.
In addition to bowling, attendees purchased raffle tickets and placed them in boxes set in front of prizes that were donated by local merchants.
Winners walked away with a free round of golf, free athletic club membership and more than two dozen other prizes.
“I spoke with the workers at the food pantry who said they receive a lot of donations through the holidays, but after it begins to dwindle down,” Denard said. “Although it may not be as busy, there are still people who go to the pantry for food, so donations help put food on their table.”
Denard said Dean Transportation workers are going to the food pantry tomorrow to give them their $1,250 check.
Last year, Dean Transportation raised $1,900 for the pantry at their fundraiser.
